Official results of ER Champ 2021

On November 27, 2021, at 16:00 UTC, the ER CHAMP 2021 final took place. This is the fifth edition of our competition, the second under the name ER CHAMP (previously: PolandEscape). The competition was international once again - teams from countries such as Japan, the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Great Britain, France, and Switzerland qualified for the finals of this edition.

The competition was international once again - teams from countries such as Japan, the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Great Britain, France, and Switzerland qualified for the finals of this edition.

Every year, our championships surprise us - mostly with the enthusiasm with which the teams (both regular players and completely new people) approach the tasks we have prepared. We are very happy that you wanted to be part of our project this year as well.
Unfortunately, sometimes things happen that no one can fully predict. Despite hundreds of hours spent preparing and later testing the level, a bug has crept into the final level. At some point, players could get stuck without being able to solve one of the tasks. Unfortunately, it happened to 5 of the final teams.
Revealing the plot a bit: If the monitors were turned on in the first place (instead of the second computer), the system did not allow the second computer to be turned on, and thus you did not get a clue to the puzzle of arranging items on the stairs. The bug has now been fixed and players will no longer encounter it after the official results are published.
We performed a simulation (for these 5 teams, the results will be placed on the scoreboard), which consisted in calculating the possible game time if the missing puzzle was available to them.
One of the teams was very high in the ranking before getting stuck and had a real chance of being on the podium. After analyzing their games, it turns out that they could very possibly get 3rd place (according to estimation their time could have fluctuated within +/- 50 seconds from the result of the third team if they would not slow down). Therefore, we give them 3rd place ex aequo and they receive the same prizes as 3rd place. As an apology, we would like to give the other 4 teams a gift in the form of copies of our book "The Book of Rituals" for each team member. We will contact you individually.

Congratulations once again to the winners and thanks to all teams for participating in this year's ER Champ. The final game is now available to everyone: everyone can face the puzzles of the masters.
This year, the ER Champ 2021 Escape Room World Champions title "flew" to Taiwan. And what awaits us in the next edition? We do not know. But we hope you will also become part of ER Champ 2022, which we are already starting to work on.
