The wait is over! The World Escape Room Championship is back, and ER Champ 2025 promises to be bigger and better than ever. With new challenges, an immersive storyline, and a brand-new location for the Finals, this year’s competition will push teams to their limits. ER Champ 2025 Dates

As every year, ER Champ will consist of two competition stages, preceded by a Stress Test - an optional short game that is a load test on our servers. 

• Stress Test: May 31, 2025
• Qualifications: June 28, 2025
• Finals: October 19-20, 2025

The ER Champ Finals Head to Sofia, Bulgaria

Following past Finals in Prague (2024) and Wrocław (2023), we’re continuing our tradition of making ER Champ a truly global escape room championship. This year, the Finals will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria!

We are thrilled to announce that this event is made possible thanks to the help and support of our Bulgarian Ambassadors – Funky Monkey and Nadia & Dimitar from Team Fury. The Finals will be hosted at The Purgatory, a venue with ample space for both competitors and spectators.

But that’s not all! A special pre-event at Funky Monkey’s headquarters will give participants a chance to meet each other, warm up, and practice in escape rooms from past editions of ER Champ before the big day. Get ready for a weekend full of puzzles, adrenaline, and unforgettable moments!

What’s New in ER Champ 2025?

This year, we’re introducing some changes to elevate the championship experience.

Escape Room Conference for Industry Professionals

For the first time ever, ER Champ will host a mini conference for escape room owners and industry experts. This event will run alongside the Finals in Sofia and offer case studies discussed by the owners of the largest escape room companies in the world.

ER Champ Moves to English-Only Format

Starting in 2025, ER Champ will be available exclusively in English – including the website and all past and future games. Why this change?

• Fairness for all teams – ER Champ is developed in English from the ground up, and some puzzles are incredibly difficult to translate accurately. Keeping everything in English ensures equal opportunities for all players.
• Efficiency & quality – Our team is small, and maintaining the competition in multiple languages requires extra time and resources. By focusing on English, we can ensure the highest quality escape room championship experience.

We understand this is a big shift, but we believe it’s the right decision for the future of ER Champ and its growing global community.
