About this edition
Poland Escape 2017 consisted of 3 stages - internet qualifiers, regional stage, and the grand finale. As part of the Internet eliminations, the teams fought each other by solving an Internet game like notpron. It was a story of discovering the city of Wrocław by two grim friends. The game was not easy, but it attracted the community of puzzle lovers. Some teams were solving the game for several days without a break.
Regional eliminations took place in several cities: Warsaw, Poznań, Gdańsk, Gliwice and Wrocław. Teams that qualified for them had to face new rooms of selected companies, in which no one had the opportunity to play before. In each city, the competition lasted 2 days, and from each of them, the 2 fastest teams advanced to the grand finale.
The finale of the competition took place as part of the great WroEscape escape room festival, organized by Lock.me and Exit19 in autumn 2017 in Wrocław. Participants were locked in a specially prepared room, and all electronic devices had been taken from them beforehand. Everyone waited for their turn to play in one of the two final rooms. Interestingly - one of the rooms was organized in the Traficar car. The remaining rooms belonged to Exit19 - the semi-final game took place in the "Curse of the Maya Treasure", while the grand final in the "Asylum" (which today is one of the highest-rated rooms in Poland).
The main partner of the first championships was the City of Wrocław. The successful and interesting formula encouraged us to continue our work and organize the next championships. 537 teams took part in the first edition, consisting of a total of nearly 1,800 participants.
